Wanted: Instance/Raiding Officer

Folks, I'm back from a 2-week hiatus with my family. Apparently my wife had a kid, and that took up a bit of time, and you know. And in the course of that joyous two weeks, the guild has been neglected a bit, and consequently, we lost some folks.

Nevertheless, Brewfest Champions is still alive, damnit. We are the unflushable turd of Kael'thas. You can't git rid of us.

We've welcomed some new members, and returning members. Nomi is back with our guild with an alt named Taffey. So we welcome Taffey back to the fold! There are other new folks who are at low levels in the guild--and damnit, I swear I'll update this post with yer names! But at the moment, I'm up here at the ol' job typing this blog out, and I have no access to our guild records.

It occurs to me that our guild needs two important people to make this organization work:

1. We need an enthusiastic recruiter
2. We need an organizer for instances and raids

Months of trying to do both have taught me that I am more built for the former. I like recruiting and bringing people into the guild. I would have no worries if I could just simply focus on that one task.

But setting up raids and doing instances is difficult for me because I do not have the time for that. I can't even find time to run a raid instance, let alone set one up. (Thank the newborn for that one, fellas.)

Therefore, I need a "Number 1" to do this. I need someone to set up instances and raids and ensure that those raids and instances are run. The instances or raids can be of any level. We got many leveled players in Brewfest Champions. No worries if we have instance runs through Shadowfang Keep, or Mauradon. (In fact, there have been talks of perhaps expanding ourselves largely into the low-leveled population. If we can create a low-leveled base of Brewfest Champions, and nurse them all into maturity, perhaps we'd have a potent collective of high-leveled players in time.)

Anyway, I need a Instance/Raid organizer. We need a Raid officer! Comment here if yer interested, or send me an in-game mail!

What to do at level 80...

Just yesterday, a good friend said to me: "I'm at level 80 now, and it's boring because there's nothing to do."

I found this interesting. My colleague then stated he was starting a new character out of boredom!

But there are things to do at level 80. I know this, for I've been level 80 for at least three months now!

The activities are as follows:
-Max out your 2 particular professions
-Max out your 3 general professions (cooking, fishing, first aid)
-Become a Crusader at the Argent Tournament
-fight in the Trial of the Champion, or Trial of the Crusader
-Raid with your guild...which we shall start to do this week.
-Obtain 100 mounts--I believe you get a very special mount reward for that one
-assist other players who are still leveling
-go through all the instances you couldn't go through before (WoW Classic and BC instances)
-Do 25 dailies (get up to 450 gold a day with all 25 dailies in Northrend)
-Achievments: Do all quests and instances in Northrend
-Obtain all the PVP gear and tear ass against the Alliance. Pick on weak alliance opponents! (I recommend boosting your resilience for that one! As a warlock, I'm working to attain over 800 resilience)
-Become exalted....with everyone.

There's plenty of junk to do! But, if you wanna start an alternate toon, that's always an option, too. Myself, I got a level 40 warrior sitting around I need to level someday. A priest too. (In fact, if it's one thing our guild needs, it's more healers.)

Okay...that's all ol' Nob can think of. Remember, Naxx on Thursday guys! We even have people outside our guild checking out this webpage and asking to go. So...get yer asses ready!

And, if you fellas wanna try a 10-Man Trial of the Crusader on Monday, I'm in.-Nobious the Warlock

Naxx for now, Uldar later.

I was excited to do an Uludar run yesterday. I got REAL pissed when I was told I wasn't "leet" enough.

Therefore, I'm pushing this guild to finally start gearing up for raids.

How do you gear up for a raid?

Get good gear by doing Heroic level 80 instances and the Heroic Tournament of Champions. Also, we need to do a Naxx run together to accumulate good gear. I would like to do this next Thursday. Please put in the comments form on this post if you can go. I will mark it on our calendar.

About ten of us are level 80. Keep recruiting. We will get more.

I'll update more this weekend.

Brewfest is over...

Oh no. It's all over. No more pirates. No more keg runs, or dwarf battles. No more varieties of beer that buff us during our battles. If we're lucky, we came away with some nifty trinkets to keep the magic kindled throughout the year while we wait for the next festival.

And with Brewfest goes many people's opportunities to gain those nifty Brewmeister promotions that come with the festival. Have no fear though. In a month, I will unleash a new promotion opportunity. In the middle of November, you'll hear about it. And not before!

Some are interested in promotions within the guild based on merit. Sounds like a hot ticket to me. But it will take me some time to devise a way for guildies to prove themselves worthy of that kind of officer promotion. I can say this much...ol' Nob wants devoted enthusiastic consistent officers who can kick ass and carry a good sense of humor with em! So, that means: recruit for me, lead instance runs, participate with the website, and get yer name circulating among the tribe. A Brewfest Champion with that kind of streed cred will definitely get my consideration.

For now, let's deal with the reality before us. We now have to settle for Thanksgiving, or Christmas, or Valentine's Day holidays, and crud like that. But no longer can we enjoy that greatest holiday of em all. The very holiday that ESTABLISHED our loverly little guild.

Yes friends. Brewfest is over.

======>Post schedules here!<=======

Hello my little dumplings. Daddy hasn't forgotten you. All 30+ of you.

As you can see by checking your guild tab, we have over thirty guild members enrolled in the Brewfest Champions at this point. So far, so good!

But unlike the early days when we were whimsical and light-hearted...we now have a tribe of killers. And that's just how I like it. More corpses for me to eat.

Requests have lately flown my way that ask when we can do instances, when we will do raids, and how our ranking system works. Looks like our guild's becomin' more serious.

So, in order to start organizing guild instances, I am requesting that each guild member please submit their schedule to me in this comments forum here. Just click on the comments link at the bottom of this blog entry here, and tell us your schedule.

"What do I do when I click on the comments button?" you ask. Simple, first you leave the message of your schedule right in this big area here...

Then, after that, you have to type in a password so that the Blogspot people know yer not a spamming machine...

Finally, you need to leave your name. To do that, just click on this option here:
A window will come up with an option for you to leave yer name.
You don't have to worry about the URL.

Incentive? Well, like the Brewfest photo contest, there is an incentive for participating on this little webpage. Post a comment, and ya get 5 gold. That's right kids. Your opportunity for a little free money is here again.

Pics from Tonight's Direbrew Run

Folks,

Here's tonight's pictures from our successful Direbrew Run!

Well done, everyone! We did well, even though we didn't have a single priest or shaman!

Too damned bad we didn't have a single mount drop for us.

Maybe next year though!

Yes friends, it seems our guild is growin' at such a pace, we can start doin' instance runs together finally. Tonight, at one point, there were a total of 6 guildies online at once.
Not bad for a guild formed on an established 5-year old server.

In addition to this run, Kills, Nomi and myself did a Wintergrasp battle together--and we didn't do too bad for ourselves. In fact, we kicked serious ass. Good work folks.

Although the Brewfest season is wrappin' up, this guild will stay right where we are. Our plan? Recruit the whole damned server, until Blizzard is forced to rename the server known as "Kael'thas."

Some day, with our dedication, we'll make this place the Brewfest server!

And, damnit, we're gonna be the envy of this WoW universe one way or another!

Brewfest Photos of the Brewfest Champions

Well gents, here it is! Photo time! So far, we got a few photos. Cash money goes to these fellas for their contribution to yer guild page. Will we get more? We'll see--because there's only a few days of this free beer left.

For now, I present to you our photos from this year's Brewfest, 2009.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

...Brewmeister Celynas' Ram (Nice view of Ogrimmar!)

...The powerful vomit of Razbek the Terrible!
(Watch, as the filthy troll pukes all over himself and our precious beer!)

...A man proud of his accomplishments! Take notes. (Nice work, Killidin)

...ya know, nothin' says an Oktober Brewfest like a good ol' fashioned Viking helmet! (Howdy Porgar!)

...Bubnite, kickin' ass in Hellfire Penninsula. (Welcome to the guild, dude!)

Direbrew Run Monday 9pm

Now, I know you fellas have been as enthusiastic about this beer festival as I have been! Maybe you've even managed to accumulate all the Brewfest crap you can carry, and yer bank is overloaded with junk now!

Nonetheless, we are entering the third week of Brewfest, which is also the shortest and last week of the festival.

All such things must come to an end, I suppose. It's the Second Law of Thermodynamics, after all. Besides, a keg can only be tapped so much until it is dry.

Nevertheless, Brewmeister Porgar has insisted on one last hoorah for our cult, scheduled for Monday at 9pm. Yes, we are finally doing yet another guild activity together. I'm confident it will be a grand success that will earn the inspiration of other WoW players, and we'll have rivers of recruits once we accomplish our goal.

At 9pm on Monday night, I'd like for us Brewfest Champs to try to meet up for one last shot at Direbrew's jaw.

That son of a bitch owes me a kodo, and I aim to collect.

So...if ya'll wanna get some good clean revenge on Coren Direbrew and his family, then let's meet up and slice into his gut at 9pm tomorrow night. We'll slice and dice until we've had our fill of his smelly little Iron Darf blood!

Now, doing a Direbrew run with you fellas would be great for several reasons. First of all, it would be great because our guild would actually be running something together. We just don't get to meet up as much as I'd like--though that will change with the more recruits we get.

But also, with a team of our own, we could fight the bastard with our own tactic.

What am I talking about?

Well, I've found that I could get better drops off of Direbrew if we kill off his adds and his sisters/wives. In fact, we could probably continuously kill them off for a good five minutes, and I wouldn't be surprised if we got a lot of good drops. Now, I could be wrong--but I'd like for us to at least try to farm his family.

Can you guys imagine what it'd be like to have a group of five people collect five Brewfest Mounts from one Direbrew run? Then, we could truly say that we were Brewfest Champions at that point.

However, if we're gonna be able to try anything, we gotta meet up for the event together. So...level 75 and up, come online at around 8:30pm server time tomorrow, Monday night.

We'll tear it up one more time before the festival ends!

I'll miss the Brewfest after this week. I hate the fact it comes only once a year. But I guess that's what makes it special.

There will always be a place in my cold dead heart for free beer.

Short Brewfest Intermission

Before I go on with this next post, I gotta apologize that I haven't been able to get the latest few posts up fast enough. The next post needed to go up yesterday. However, I've been runnin' like crazy up here at my job, and I was unable to post anything from home last night due to the fact the wifey may squirt out a kid any day now. We're hoping to induce labor next Tuesday...but it's been a full moon lately, and you know what they say about pregnant women and full moons! (Or do you?)

Chances are that I'll be even more sporadic with my online activity and postings for the next week or two, though I'll do my best to be consistent with my cult of Brewfest fans. Just please understand...I'm about to have a kid here!

That being said, let's move on!

The Brewfest Photo Contest Shall Proceed

Yesterday evening, I was able to check in with Taynor and Razbek. They were workin' together on leveling up North in Azshara. So far, so good--keep it up fellas!

Remember, if you need anything, let the guild know.

And don't forget, I can always cast some expertise enchants to help ya level, and, of course, while Brewfest proceeds, there's always the 6:15 buff from the Tapping of the Keg, which boosts your experience accumulation.

While we were visiting on a rock next to the monster-filled ocean, the subject of photography arose once again. It was decided that Brewfest Champions will push through with a photo game. The object is simple. Send me a good photograph of something hopefully brewfest-related, and I'll post it and award ya with an award of gold. Easy money.

And now comes the question: have you ever taken a photo with Warcraft before? If not, the process is simple. All you do is hit the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. This action will photograph everything on your screen, including your toolbar.

What if you don't want your toolbar in the photo? Simple. Hit Alt-Z to remove your toolbar from view. Hit Alt-Z to bring it back.

Sometimes, I like to remove the names from above players, to provide for a nice clean picture. To do that, you need to go to your Interface menu to remove Names.

To obtain this photograph, you need to go into your Warcraft folder on your computer. There, in your Warcraft files is a folder titled "Screenshots." It is there that you can find your images, which are usually saved in jpeg format. Rename them if you wish, and send me a copy of your picture. Send the copy to brewfestchampions@yahoo.com. I'll post em, and promptly send ya a cash reward as soon as I can get my WoW-addicted ass to a computer.

There's plenty of places in Azeroth to get a good picture, and there's plenty of stations where the Brewfest decorum is set up that you wouldn't even suspect. For instance, I bet you have no idea where the hell this is at!

I look forward to gettin' mails from you chums outside WoW. It really helps fight the monotony of my 16-hour shift at the job, and the website and mail system are the only ways for me to communicate to you during weekends. So now, let's see who'll read this!

Hardy har har!

We welcome new recruits!..We have rewards for photos!

Last night, in the wee hours of the morning before the 6:15am tapping of the keg, Brewfest Champions welcomed three new recruits.

I introduce to you Kagish, Pablosandovl, and Aeloria! (Photo of Aeloria coming soon.)
These fellas were, of course, playing on the third shift...so chances are they'll be a late-night addition to our little crew. The more, the merrier, gents!

Keep workin' on those rams and kodos fellas. Become a Brewmaster so I can recruit ya up to a Brewmeister! Get a keg of Brewfest Beer for when the season ends! And kick the ass of the Alliance!

Now, remember everyone, ya'll still have the power to recruit yerselves...so reel em in! The more we get in, the more a chance we have on raiding. Of course, the idea has always been that we're a rag tag group of renegade outcasts on Kael'thas. But still! It'll be nice if we can do some instance runs and maybe some raids later on, if we have the numbers. So far, we're up to 25 members, and about 10 of em are level 80. So...we're doin' good!

If any of you newer members have any questions for ol' Nob, and ya need to contact me outside of this game, send an email to brewfestchampions@yahoo.com. I'm able to correspond on weekends in that manner only. (I only get to play an hour on Saturday nights.)

In any case! Brewfest continues! Drink up fellas! Enjoy the holiday, because it only comes once a year!

Take a good photo of yerselves and send it to the email address I posted above. As long as it's decent, I'll post it, and I can include a small cash prize for ya. One photo per member!

Brewfest: End of Week 2

Well done, well done everyone! Folks are really doin' well this week representin' us during the Festival. All week, our crew has been fighting and killing Direbrew and his family, robbing them of their goods and stealing his cattle.

The recruting has also been good this week. As of the end of this week, we had up to 25 members in our guild. Over ten of us were level 80. That's a quarter of a hundred members, fellas. Good good. But it dropped, of course. It happens. In fact, by November I expect there to be a purging of members who've been inactive for over two months. We gotta clean up the ranks, gentlemen. Don't be fearful when our numbers drop a bit. It must happen for us to retain a solid core of players.

But have no fear. We'll recruit more. Next week is the third great week of Brewfest, and there's plenty of opportunity to reel em in.

In the meantime, if any of you lower-level players (40,50...8....whatever) need a hand in questing, I'll come to your aid. Maybe we can do an instance run.

And speaking of lower levels, Outland is a great place to recruit! These fellas are strugglin' to get up to level 80. Maybe the Brewfest Champions can help em out and earn their trust.

In any even fellas, have a good time. Only a few days are left. Work hard on gettin' those tokens! Perfect that ram race to maximize your winnings! Try not to miss the "Down with the Dark Iron" quest turn ins! And don't forget to ride yer ram around Ogrimmar and bark out advertisements to anyone who hears ya. Stock up on Brewfest specialty beers. Get some regalia. Kill Direbrew a few more times.

Drink em if ya got em.
